internet safety is important because there are alot of predators on the web. 40yr old men can easily go onto to a live chat room such as msn and say he is 14 but really be 40 and ask to meet up only to kidnap you and possibly kill you. Personally i only speak to people i know and have met in person.

I think it is a good idea to be carefull in what you say on the internet and on chat websites were you could be talking to anyone but even if you are taking to people you know realy well you should always be careful at what you say because any one could hack into your conversation.

Cyber Safety is a critical importance when online, people can be 50 year old creeps pretending to be 15. You should only chat to people you know and have met in person or if you havn’t met them in person you’ve talked to them over the phone or you know who they really are…
It’s the same with sites like Myspace and Facebook, adding “randoms” isn’t the best idea, yet i know tons of people that do it. If you are in a situation where your chatting to someone you don’t know and they ask for personal details, NEVER give them out. NEVER give infomation that the person could use to track you down.
You also have to be careful when your chatting to your best friend over some websites as people can hack into your conversations…if someone is cyber bullying you and you want to print the page there should be an icon with this option or you can right-click and print.
I consider myself pretty safe on the internet….untill i took Miss Wyatt’s class on cyber safety last year i couldn’t even imagine half the stuff that goes on over the web, stay safe

I use the internet often for social networking, blogs and Instant Messenger.
I believe I stay safe on the computer using Instant Messenger I only have MSN so i can only add people that I know and want to talk to.
On my social Networking sites I only add people that I know not just anyone and don’t let out personal information like my phone number and adress.

Staying safe on the internet is really important. You have to think about what you’re doing the whole time because it is really easy to make a mistake and say something you shouldn’t.

I think that we shouldn’t say our name incase the wrong sort of person reads it because even if you say where abouts you live the person could still find exacly where you live or find out your full name and how old you are.

Internet Safety is a very underrated topic/subject in today’s society. It is very important to keep your safety on the internet. When people are on their IM’s (instant messages) it is very easy to slip up information. Information like ‘last name’s`, the school you attended and other small pieces of your personal information that can lead to cyber stalking or identity thief.
Also mobile phones are a great way to keep in touch but when your friend gives your number to one of their friends (that you’ve never met) can lead to problems. Just texting them can lead to you giving them to much information. Many people text just 3 letters to a person that can lead to you giving them to much information, ASL (Age, Sex, Location). Giving this information is even to much. Stick to first name gender and state to be safe!
There are some real weirdo’s out keep your identity safe and if they start asking to many questions tell them ‘Stop!’.
